BLC 5K Run/Walk for Literacy

Race info:
Your participation will raise money for literacy and inspire people to read!

Your help is needed to make this 10^th year of the Brunner Literacy Center’s 
5K Run/Walk a huge success.

When you participate in this charity run/walk, you will have an immediate impact.
You will open the world of English for a new English speaker, support an aspiring graduate's journey to a GED, or help a new reader travel from one learning level to the next. 

When adults learn how to read, do math, and understand the world around them, they can make a better life for themselves, their families, and our community and workplaces.  A more literate Dayton and greater Miami Valley benefits the whole community.

No other place in our community tutors one-on-one. Adults who have never read are learning to read!

Your sponsorship and donations will keep the BLC up and running at full speed ahead.


Registration:
Now Through August 31 (includes race shirt) - Early Bird

September 1 through September 15 (includes race shirt)

September 16 - Race Day (shirt not included)

Shirts guaranteed if registered by September 16th. Some shirts may be available on race day but aren't guaranteed. Registration fees are nonrefundable/nontransferrable.

There will not be any onsite registration. Online registration only will remain open until 9:45am on race day. If you have questions about this or prefer to pay via cash or check, please send us a message.

We ask that you adhere to a 20 min/mile pace, as race timing will stop at 11:20am.

Participants with strollers are welcome!


Shirt option:
If you register by September 15th, shirts available in sizes Youth Medium through 3XLarge, are included with your registration. The design and style are pending.  

Schedule:
Race day, Saturday, September 30th, Englewood MetroPark
8:45am to 9:45am - Packet pick up and race day registration
10am - Race starts (course map)
11:20am - Race timing stops

After race:

Refunds:
On race day, we will be following the guidance currently recommended from the State of Ohio. In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, pandemic, or for any other reason deemed necessary by timing company, race organizers, public safety officials, or anyone else in charge, we reserve the right to reschedule the event date if possible, cancel the race, or convert this to a virtual race. There will be no refunds for any reason and race items will not be mailed.
